Peanut Butter Blossoms

Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies

This is my regular peanut butter cookie recipe.  I got this recipe from Grandma’s Great Desserts cookbook put out by Reiman Publications.  I have cut down on the sugar.  As I have it typed, that is how we do it.  Today when Emily and Josie made them they put a Hershey’s kiss in them about half way through baking them.

1 cup butter

1 cup peanut butter

3/4 cup white sugar

3/4 cup brown sugar

3 eggs

3 cups flour

2 teaspoons baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

In a mixing bowl, cream butter, peanut butter and sugars.  Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.  Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt; add to creamed mixture.  Roll into 1 1/2 inch balls and place 3 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.  Flatten with a fork if desired (we did not do it for the blossoms).  Bake at 375º for 10-15 minutes.
