Snickerdoodle Cookies

1 cup butter

1 cup shortening

3 cups sugar

4 eggs

5 1/2 cups flour

4 teaspoons cream of tarter

2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

cinnamon and sugar mixture

Cream butter, shortening, and sugar together.  Stir in eggs one at a time and mix.  Add dry ingredients and mix well. 

Chill dough.  Roll dough into balls.  Roll in cinnamon and sugar mixture and place on ungreased cookie sheet.  Bake at 375º for 8 – 10 minutes.

    My Gran used to make these, and I picked up on that tradition… for which Hubs blames five pounds, lol…oh well! 🙂
