Berry Coffee Cake

I got this recipe from a friend in college.  A group of us girls went to her parents home for the weekend and then went to Yosemite for the day.  Her mom made this recipe.  The recipe as typed is doubled.  I will make half of this recipe to make this in my cast iron skillet.

 

Raspberry Coffee Cake

1 cup butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
4 cups flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 cups milk
2 tsp. vanilla

 

Mix the above ingredients together and put in a sprayed jelly roll pan (10 x 15 inch).

Topping:
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup flour

cinnamon

Mix the topping ingredients together.  Sprinkle fresh or frozen berries on the coffee cake.  Sprinkle the topping ingredients over the berries.  Sprinkle lightly with cinnamon.  Bake at 350º for 40 – 45 minutes.
